Crowns & Bridges
At our Surrey dental practice, we provide dental crowns to repair badly damaged teeth, and dental bridges to fill the gaps left by missing teeth.
What are crowns?
A crown covers or "caps" a damaged tooth to restore its shape and strength.
We apply crowns when a tooth is damaged in a way that can't be fixed by a filling. A crown holds a cracked tooth together and prevents the damage from worsening. Crowns are also used to attach bridges, and to cover badly shaped or discoloured teeth.
What is a bridge?
A bridge is a dental appliance that replaces one or more natural missing teeth, thereby "bridging" the space between two teeth.
If left unfilled, the empty space left by missing teeth can cause the surrounding teeth to move out of position resulting in an increased risk of tooth decay and gum disease, which can lead to further tooth loss. Fixed bridges enhance the appearance of your smile and improve your ability to chew and speak.
